Your pizza doesn’t have to be delivered to your front
door—make this healthy version in your own kitchen.
High in protein and low in fat with a pasta “crust,” this
casserole gives you the taste of pizza without the guilt!

INGREDIENTS:
• 16 ounces whole wheat penne pasta
• 1 teaspoon olive oil
• 1 cup chopped onion
• 1 cup chopped bell pepper
• 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
• 3 lean turkey Italian sausage links (spicy is best)
• 1 cup turkey pepperoni slices
• 3 cans pizza sauce
• 3 cups low-fat shredded mozzarella cheese
INSTRUCTIONS:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook pasta according to box instructions. While pasta is cooking, slice Italian
sausage into medallions. Heat a large skillet to medium-high heat and add olive oil, chopped onions, bell pep-
pers and garlic. Cook for 3-5 minutes. Add the Italian sausage and continue cooking until sausage is done.
Add turkey pepperoni slices and 3 cans of pizza sauce. Continue to cook until the sauce is heated. Add the
cooked penne pasta. Then stir in 2-½ cups of the shredded mozzarella cheese.
Spray a 9x13 pan with olive oil spray and add mixture from skillet to the pan spreading evenly. Place in the
350 degree oven and cook until heated throughout and cheese is bubbly, approximately 30 minutes. Remove
from oven and sprinkle top with remaining ½-cup of cheese. Return to oven for 10 minutes to melt the cheese.
